In 2014 our third son, Keith, came into the world. Within three months we noticed his skin was painfully different — dry, cracked, and endlessly itchy as if his body could not make a drop of natural moisture or sweat. Nights became long vigils of sleeplessness. Mornings were not very different, broken skin needed bandaging again. No prescription, no over‑the‑counter cream, no desperate midnight remedy offered any real relief. I would layer him in ointments and Vaseline, wrap him up like a little mummy to hold in what moisture I could, and still he would wake raw and miserable. Watching my child suffer, unable to rest or focus at school, pulled something raw and fierce from me.

That helplessness turned into a relentless search. I studied herbs by the dim light of the kitchen, recalling the quiet wisdom of my grandmother and great‑grandmother in southern Louisiana who healed with roots, leaves, and time. I learned about organisms and immune triggers, about gentle herbs that calm the nervous system and act as natural antihistamines. Slowly, with careful blends and patient testing, I found what soothed him. I made Derma Blend tea, an herbal‑infused shea butter, and a calming body oil — small salves that, together, quieted the itch and eased his nights. I watched my son sleep. I watched his skin begin to heal.

From that love, from that urgent need to help my child, Earth Finds was born — a return to the remedies of our elders, refined by study and crafted for real, stubborn problems.
